Heather Smith

Heather is a full-time history student at the University of Birmingham and a lead researcher at Bertz Associates. Heather joined Bertz Associates as a research intern in May 2022 as part of a placement module at the University of Birmingham, working on the Everything to Everything project at George Dixon Academy and participating in the Mantle of the Expert event in Poland. 

Before joining the team, Heather worked on the young reporter scheme and gained experience at the media company Curve Media. She is now the lead researcher for the Tower Ballroom project, with a special focus on bringing people together, uncovering untold stories, and amplifying minority voices.
